Food Babies

I didn't even mention food baby on this trip, but food baby has grown into babies! I think I'm having twins! I ate so much. It all went straight to my stomach.

Now I'm mad because I have to try to get it off. Trying to eat more protein and the Trainer at the Health Club has been teaching me exercises (for free!).

I need to get it off before the next trip! Hopefully, that will be with Mandy!

Changes to Puerto Vallarta

Mall
I was shocked to see a new mall next to the Wal-Mart in Puerto Vallarta. There are many new restaurants as well.

Starbucks
Starbucks had not gained entry into Mexico when I was there last. We saw at least 3!

Aero Puerto
The airport has grown and added many new stores (a lot of them are duty free).

Dreams
I won't see the changes, but they are going to remodel the Spa, rennovate the Seaside restaurant, and make some other nice changes. I think these changes will help make it more of a 6 Apple resort. It is currently rated as such, but I feel that it's currently a strong 5.

Our 4th and Final Day

Basically, we had breakfast and left!

Getting our tickets and through Security was a breeze. The P.V. airport has grown a lot in the past two years since I've been there. They have a lot more shopping, but I still didn't buy anything.

Dani
Dani picked me up promptly again. I'm glad I discovered him. He even offered to stop and get me food on the way home.

Our Third Day

Clothes? Who needs clothes? We just wanted to get some more sun.

Aunt Char missed her 8:00 a.m. Yoga class. We had breakfast at the World Cafe, which is a buffet. Then, we got chairs at the Infinity pool and I even got a raft. I could have sold the raft because so many people wanted it!

At 10:00 a.m. Aunt Char tried the rock climbing, but it was very difficult. A few kids from England came for their turn and she gave up. I told her that she had every right to try it as much as they did, but she wouldn't do it while they were waiting. I couldn't see how anyone could get up there anyhow as there was nowhere to grip. I'd like to challenge Brian Onstad to try that rock climbing wall!

Pescado
We saw quite a few schools of sting ray swimming in the ocean and even a Puffer fish. Like I always say, who wants to swim in the ocean? That's like entering a cave with a mother bear and her cubs.

Raft, Beach, Raft, Beach
I read my book while laying on my raft in the Infinity Pool. It was very relaxing. When I went for a walk on the beach, Aunt Char had to lay on the raft to guard it with her life! I didn't walk the beach as much as I should have, but I got a lot of sun laying on the raft (but only on my front).

Drinks
Everyone at the pool was drinking "Dirty Monkeys," which are a slushy banana and chocolate flavored drink with chocolate on the glass and on top. I asked if they could make them non-alcoholic and that became my drink! I think I had them at the Iberostar before. Moo!

Water Aerobics
Aunt Char was overly ambitious and was going to go to Water Aerobics too, but then she didn't. She went too early and didn't want to go back.

Lunch
I woke up at Char at 1:30 to go to lunch and she thought we already went to lunch. LOL I guess she was "Dreamin'"

Seaside Grill
We ate at the Seaside Grill again for lunch.

Main Pool
We moved to the main pool by the pool bar for a little while.

Spa
Aunt Char had a 5:00 p.m. Spa appointment. I stayed at the main pool, and must have closed my eyes for a few minutes and when I opened them, almost everyone was gone and it was drizzling, so I went back to the room.

Blogging
I tried to blog, but it just wasn't cooperating.

Seaside Grill
Dinner was at the Seaside Grill, which is open air. It's a steak house in the evening. Did I mention that Aunt Char ordered 2 desserts every night?

Circus Show
I made Aunt Char go to the evening entertainment. It was the only show they had while we were there. It was a bunch of mimes, a belly dancer, and girls doing acrobatics. Aunt Char was seriously freaked out by the mime on stilts. She must watch too many murder shows.

Rendezvous Bar
We had a drink at the Rendezvous Bar and Aunt Char was upset that there was a piano player playing Billy Joel songs. I never knew she hated live music. Who hates live music? Her husband is a musician.

Am I a Travel Agent?
Aunt Char didn't believe me that you had to turn in your room keys. She called the front desk to inquire about checking out over the phone (LOL) and they told her that she had to turn the keys in the next morning. I know the drill. I've stayed at so many all-inclusive resorts.

T.V.
Aunt Char (like my mom) slept with the T.V. on. It was so hot in the room and I every time I got up to check the thermostat, I would hear a clip of Maroon Five playing. Aunt Char said that I was "dreaming," but I wasn't.

Portofino's

Portofino's is the Italian restaurant where we went for dinner on our 2nd night.

There were these red flying aunts with big eyes, and we kept shooing them under the window and there was a couple sitting outside at a table just on the other side. I wonder if they noticed.

The food and service was great!

Malecon
We decided to go to the Malecon because on Sunday night all of the locals head down for the evening and it's very festive. Unfortunately, it was drizzling the whole time, so it wasn't as nice as it usually is.

It was still nice to walk around, but Aunt Char got blisters from her shoes. I told her to borrow mine, but she said she was too short. Hmmmm.....comfort vs. looks?

Did I mention that she lost Patty's sweater either in the taxi, at SeƱor Frogs when she went to the Cash Station or in the bathroom of a restaurant that she used. Patty didn't even know that I brought her sweater with me.

Taxi
We got a taxi to take us back and Aunt Char kept worrying that he was taking us the wrong way. LOL......She is extremely directionally challenged. Anyhow, I think he heard her and said we were almost there. I asked him what time it was in Spanish and he asked if we knew Spanish. I said "un poquito," so he started talking to us in Spanish and helping us along and it was a fun conversation. He said he has 5 kids because they have no T.V.

A Little Rendezvous
We stopped to have a drink at the Rendezvous bar off of the lobby. There was a large group having a lot of fun, and they invited us to join them. Aunt Char said, "don't you dare." I can't believe that she isn't social (especially while on vacation). I told her that from now on, I was calling her "Aunt-i Social!"

Private Tour

We hired a private tour guide to take us around. His Web site is: http://www.damianadventure.com/

Damian picked us up at 9:00 a.m. He was very handsome and 32. He has 2 children and 5 dogs and lives on a farm. He also works for the Mayan Palace. He makes more money then both of us combined, but Aunt Char insisted on buying hin food/drinks. She also felt sorry for every homeless person on the street! I just kept walking!

We went to Cochas Chinas, the Malecon/Boardwalk, River Cuale, Wal-Mart, Pitiffil, and even to his Grandma's house! His Grandma lives on the steepest street I've ever seen.

He was very knowledgeable, and I know you won't believe this, but I did not buy one single thing! I think I can sign up for the Guiness Book of World Records.

We were gone about 5 hours.

Dinner - 1st Night

We flipped a coin and went to dinner at the Mexican restaurant. We pigged out!

We had this awesome queso for an appetizer, Tortilla Soup, and I had Flank Steak & Aunt Char had Chicken in Adobe. For dessert, I had Pumpkin Pie with Vanilla ice cream.

The whole time during dinner I had to keep running to blow my nose. I could hardly breathe (but it didn't stop me from eating). My headache from the afternoon grew even worse. After talking about it, we discovered that it had to be the tortilla chips (because I had them for lunch & dinner). They must have been cooked in peanut oil.

I will be very careful not to eat anything fried from now on.

Entertainment
We walked around because we ate so much and the only entertainment was some music at the sports bar, which was so smoky! My head couldn't even tolerate that and Aunt Char wanted to check out a movie, but they were closed. She watched Pen & Teller instead.

Migraine
This turned into the worst through the night. I couldn't imagine how I was going to go on a tour in the morning.

Sun

We were desperate to get some sun on our first day. After we got settled in, we went down and walked the beach, laid out, went in the infinity pool and when it started to drizzle, went in the hot tub. There was a huge man in a speedo and when he got out, all of the women started laughing.

We loved walking the beach. There was a crane that thought we were following it. It had yellow feet!

Dreams set up and beach reminds me a lot of the Barcelo in Huatulco. There are little cove areas, which are really neat.

The Seaside Grill

We had lunch at the Seaside restaurant when we arrived. The food was very good (especially the coconut ice cream with fruit for dessert.
They began lunch with chips and salsa.
The rock climbing wall was nearby, so Aunt Char checked it out. Looked scary to me.

Arrival

Aunt Char did show up!

Everything went very smoothly.....we arrived early, breezed through customs and were on our way in the Dreams only bus.

Glitch
Our room was not ready yet, so we went to lunch at the Seaside Grill. We had a great lunch and service.

Our room was still not ready and we are sweaty!

Grandpa Fitzgerald
Aunt Char told me that I would "talk to a stick! She was embarrassed that I talk to strangers. She told me that I'm like Grandpa Fitz.

Bribery
Aunt Char bribed the room attendant with $20 to clean our room and it still isn't ready. She's losing her patience 'cuz she's hot. I told her that she should have worn shorts. She thinks that because I am a Travel Agent, that I get special treatment....LOL...sometimes it is worse. I think she will be fine once she changes into her bathing suit.

Not Bikini Ready

Since I turned 40, not sure that I'll ever be bikini ready again. I joined a health club again to do weight training, but just this week.

Loved my Abs & Drums class. That was fun and intense. I could definitely feel it.

I've been working hard and walking every day, but it's so much work and it's not paying off.

I've been working hard for a long time (just not at the gym). I even worked out with Gilad and the Belly Dancers on FIT T.V.

Well, it is what it is. I guess the age thing is an issue (and my metabolism).

Winnie Jr.

Aunt Char is just like my mom. She can't figure out how to print off her e-tickets, so I am mailing her a copy. We leave on Saturday! LOL

The one way that she is not like my mom is that she said she could pack all of her items in a Jewel bag. LOL My mom usually goes over the limit! Maybe I should buy her a stick to hang her bag off of.
